If you were around a few weeks ago, you might recall seeing my Quarter Century post, where I shared all about the joys of turning 25. I was actually away from Auckland most of the (New Zealand) summer, and consequently, I was away for my birthday. Thankfully, I had a friend who was down from Auckland and helping me house sit for about a week, and she decided that for my 25th, we would do 25 things throughout the day to celebrate. And it was awesome.

I thought I’d share with you guys all the things we did. I’ve tried to include a photo of each thing, but forgive me if I’ve missed some out. A few pictures were blurry in the excitement of the day, and some were just plain bad. But you get the general idea!

1. Blow out your candles on the Manawatu Gorge

2. Te Apiti Wind Farm to make a birthday wish

3. Brunch at Aqaba

4. Visiting the Rugby Museum

5. Send a card to a friend

6. Birthday Prayer at a church

7. The Star Wars plushie machine

8. Win all the money with a scratchy ticket (got $9)

9. Play Giant Chess while drinking coffee

10. Blow up birthday balloons in the gardens

11. Wear something yellow

12. Pick a nice flower

13. Play on the playground

14. Go on the little train at the park

15. Sip a glass of Moscato at the park

16. Make a bracelet

17. Dance to your favourite song

18. Get a (fake) tattoo

19. Painting our nails

20. Watch a favourite movie (we watched The Princess Bride)

21. Blow bubbles outside at sunset

22. Have a lollipop & give one to someone else

23. Play a game (Bananagrams)

24. Receive a birthday hug

25. Capture all the memories on camera.

So thank you, M, for a wonderfully amazing birthday. I felt truly blessed and loved by your commitment to this big adventure. So lucky to have a friend like you! 26 things next year…? Haha. I kid. Thank you!
