Another year, another long list of books to add to the TBR! If you’re anything like me then you’ve already got a bunch of books saved to your To Read list on Goodreads. There are so many books coming out this coming year, but today I’m going to share just 5 young adult books to look forward to in 2022 (at least they’re the ones I’m looking forward to!).

In the recent post, 23 Young Adult Book Releases in 2022, I shared a long list of books that are coming out in 2022 in the YA space. But there are some that I’m really looking forward to and have narrowed it down to just 5 to share with you today.

Of course, like any year, there will be books that are coming out that I, at the moment, know nothing about or don’t even know exist. So while these are the top 5 I’m looking forward to, I’m sure there are many others which, had I known about them, I might have added to this list.

I will just say before we dive in, there’s another Cassandra Clare book coming out sometime late in the year, but we don’t really know anything about it yet, other than it’s the third book in The Last Hours series and is called Chain of Thorns. It will follow on from Chain of Iron and Chain of Gold, but more than that we don’t know (there’s no description for it yet). And because of that, I’ve left it off this list.

5 Young Adults Books to Look Forward to in 2022

February | League of Liars by Astrid Scholte

I absolutely loved Scholte’s other books, Four Dead Queens and The Vanishing Deep and I can’t wait to dive into League of Liars when it’s released in February!

March | Gallant by V.E Schwab

A Darker Shade of Magic is one of my favourite series of all time, and I’m convinced that I’ll read anything by VE Schwab. When it was announced that Schwab was releasing another book I knew I had to get my hands on it! I cannot wait!

April | Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor

This historical Young Adult fiction novel sounds very Caraval and very The Night Circus and if that does not lure enough I don’t know what will!  I also love the idea of this book being set in a hotel. Here for it!

July | Violet Made of Thorns by Gina Chen

When I saw the blurb for Violet Made of Thorns said ‘for fans of The Cruel Prince and Serpent & Dove, I was like ‘sign me up!’ I haven’t read anything by Chen before so I’m looking forward to getting my hands on this in July!

August | The Final Gambit (The Inheritance Games #3) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

It’s sad that this isn’t out until August! The first two in the Inheritance Games series were incredible and devoured them in the space of a long weekend. I’m so looking forward to reading this, the final book in the series.

Which one of these young adult books to look forward to will you read?? Let me know in the comments!
