Ah YouTube. The land of cat videos and lip-syncing to TayTay in the car. It’s also home to so many amazing people, who talk about every from DIY and crafts, to celebrities, to travel, and everything in between and beyond.

There are so many different genres, if you like, of channels and things that people put up on their space. According to YouTube Stats in 2015, YouTube has more than 1 billion users, 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute and is localised in 75 countries and available in 61 languages. Seriously. That’s a lot of viewing happening.

While I don’t actually spend that much time on YouTube, there are a few channels and YouTubers that I really like, so I thought I should share them with you lovely people. This is quite a wide variety of Channels, each one rather different to the previous one.

Nailed It NZ – Nail Art

Is it dumb that I put Jessie’s channel first? As you guys probably know by now, I’ve known Jessie since we were 8 years old. We used to be neighbours, and while I was in England, she started her Nailed It NZ blog and YouTube Channel. Jessie has always been amazing at art, and (I hope she doesn’t mind me saying!) used to be drawing and painting and creating when we were kids. She has poured this creativity out onto her nails – and others’! – and is an incredibly talented nail technician.

Eyedolize Makeup – Makeup

The lovely Bridgitte from Australia creates the most amazing face art on her channel, Eyedolize Makeup. I had been following her on YouTube for a while before I met her, but after meeting her a little while ago, it was even cooler seeing her videos. Funny how that is, eh? At the moment she’s creating this amazing Disney series, which you should definitely check out. She also does some challenges and ‘not makeup’ videos, and at the moment she is travelling around the world.

Just Kiss My Frog – Books and Life

Leena is from England, and she posts videos on her Channel, Just Kiss My Frog about books, about music (check out Bathtub Busking), about life, and about all the random thoughts that pop into her head in general. Leena’s is a channel that I’ve only recently discovered, but I’ve watched so many of her videos in just this short space of time.

I don’t really know what it is about it, but I sometimes find myself just clicking ‘next video’ and then ‘next video’ and again, ‘next video. Perhaps it’s because I find a lot of the books she talks about I haven’t heard of before and I’m really interested in that, or because when she just talks about something that she’s been thinking about, I totally understand what she means, and her thoughts are big and crazy and sometimes ranty and I like that.

Bookables – Books!

I first heard of Heather and her blog and channel, Bookables, when she was interviewed on the book blog I write for, Blogger’s Bookshelf, and since then I’ve been following along with her videos. They’re all about books! Hazaa! She does a round up each month of the books she’s read and what she enjoyed and didn’t. She does book tags, and a few book subscription box openings. I love her videos, and I’m always finding new books because she’s recommended them.

Shut Up Kristen! – Nerd/Geek, Life and everything

Shut Up Kristen is a channel that is a whole mix of a little bit of everything. Her description box on YouTube says “Random pieces of a caffeine crazed chick’s life.” And that’s what it is. Kristen is this crazy wonderful person who creates videos about geeky nerdy things, about random things she’s discovered, posts music parodies, and she currently does two unboxing videos a month. She’s just a lot of fun. She’s recently sort of upgraded her channel, and redesigned the look and whole … vibe? I don’t know. But it’s still great! Aaaaand she’s a Doctor Who fan. Woop!
