Well it’s finally happened. Last month Goodreads announced that a re-reading function had arrived, and I could not be more excited about this.

I don’t know about you, but I tend to re-read books that I love. I don’t know how many times I’ve re-read the Harry Potter series, but if I had a re-read function like this one back in the day then I could tell you the exact number. Alas, it was not to be … until now.

In the past few years I haven’t re-read many books (the odd one here and there if I need to re-read the first in a series to remind myself what was happening before reading the second), and if I have then it’s been at the end of the year once I’ve finished my Goodreads Reading Challenge. The re-reads never counted towards your challenge, and even if you changed the dates to make it a, for example, 2016 book, then it would take it from your 2015 challenge, and therefore leaving 2015 uncompleted.

But now? Oh wow. Now, my friends, you can re-read every book you’ve ever read and have it count towards your reading goals. This is exciting.

That’s probably the biggest reason that I haven’t done much re-reading int he past year years – simply because it didn’t count. I love the Goodreads challenge, so always wanted to finished it each year. Re-reading was not in the plan.

I’m hoping to actually re-read some of the books that I loved this year, given that I can now add them to the 2017 challenge. Be sure to look out for a post on a couple of books that I hope to re-read in the coming months (and year!) coming soon!

What do you think of this new feature?
