We’re headed back to Hogwarts!

And such apt timing as well! The 1st of September, as I’m sure you know if you’re a Harry Potter fan, is the day that all the students board the Hogwarts Express and head back to school for another year. Well awesome subscription box, Nerdy Post, jumped on that train bandwagon and created a Back To Hogwarts themed box for August! Perfect!

This is the first time that I’ve received Nerdy Post, but I saw it when I was writing the Harry Potter Subscription Boxes post in July and thought I’d try it out. I am not disappointed. I love this box, a lot, and am thinking of just redecorating my entire room to accommodate such awesome pieces.

The Box

Nerdy Post comes in a oblong box, with this beautiful logo on the front. I seriously love the ‘nerdy’ font. Super neat.

Information Card

This handy information card has a little blurb from Alexis, the creator, and the descriptions of all the pieces in the box.

Sirius Black Quote Print

On the reverse side of the Information Card is the beautiful print! I love this quote of Sirius’, and it’s designed so beautifully. Really like the watercolour splotches they have going on, and how it’s on a chapter from the book.

Two-Sided Bookmark with Ron and Hermione Quotes

While I’m super bad at using bookmarks, this one is beautiful. I love how Alexis has created something that’s double sided, and paired Ron and Hermione together in such a fun way.

Two-Sided wider bookmark, Hagrid and the Marauders

Another double-sided bookmark, this time a lot wider than your standard one. But I love the designs of this too, which were done by Instagrammer @tillanddill. Really like how it’s almost dripping down the bookmark, and how it’s such a great Hagrid quote.

Ginny Weasley Quote Poster

This is definitely a quote to live by, and one that’s a definite favourite of mine from the books. The quality of this poster is excellent, and all it took was a little roll in the opposite direction to get it sitting flat.

Hogwarts Notebook

This is a beautiful wee notebook, which reminds me of the notebooks I’ve received in Paperhaul boxes. It’s the perfect size for your handbag for those on the go ideas. Love the design on the cover!

The “Silver Trio” Sticker

Oh my word! Could anything be more cuter than this sticker of Luna, Neville and Ginny?! I’ve always loved these three characters, and never think they get enough hurrah in the world. The fact that designer @nattible called them the Silver Trio is so adorable and I’m way too excited about this.

Hogwarts Textbooks Necklace

Holy smokes you guys. I did not know that there was jewellery in this box! Ohmygosh. I can’t get over how stinnin’ adorable this necklace is! I’m going to trial it at the chain length it’s at, but I suspect I may end up changing it. We’ll see how we go. Eep! Love love love it! (P.S it was made by Lapel Yeah! and while it’s not normally a piece which Alexis includes, she might put something similar in future boxes. I say yes please!)

Colour-In Postcard

According to my Nerdy Post research, each box comes with a themed post card you can colour in. In the age of colouring in books, this is perfect. Loving this design.

And that’s that! You’re probably after some more information, right? Let’s quickly dive into all the details.

How much is Nerdy Post?

It’s just $13.95USD for the box.

  • US Shipping – $6
  • Canada Shipping – $9
  • Rest of the World – $13

That sounds pretty cheap right!? Right. Except when you add the box and international shipping: $26.95USD. And then convert thatn to New Zealand Dollars, which is around about $37.50. Not a cheap box to be getting every month. However if you’re in the US or Canada, then it’s definitely worth it.

The other boxes

There’s actually more to Nerdy Post than just what you’ve seen today. There’s Nerdy Post, and there’s Nerdy Tees. Nerdy Tees is exactly what it sounds like: themed t-shirts to your door. I love this idea; it’s like Nerd Block. You can also get the Nerdy Combo, which is both the boxes together.

  • Nerdy Tees – $15.95
  • Nerdy Combo – $29.90

But wait, there’s more!

They also have the opportunity for people to purchase past boxes. It’s great when subscription boxes do this; it means  you can see exactly what you’re getting, so if there was one that you missed, you can still get your hands on it.  You can also buy past t-shirts.

As well as the past boxes, they have the Nerdy Store, which sells fandom wear.

The Verdict

So what did I think of this, my first Nerdy Post box? Well I loved it. I love everything inside the box and it’s all so beautifully designed and put together. Would I buy it every month? No, but only on account of the fact that it adds to be quite expensive for here in NZ. But I will definitely add it my ‘sometimes’ list (like Owl Crate), and make sure I check out what the theme is for the upcoming month.
