I am so looking forward to these winter book releases.
While I realise that it’s summer in the northern hemisphere, and most of the books are published by companies in the USA or UK, we still get them at a similar time here in New Zealand. And it’s very much winter now. Over the next few months there are quite a few titles that I’m looking forward to, a few of which I actually already have (ARCs), and there will be some I’m sure I will miss. Check out what winter book releases I’m excited for! (And be sure to let me know which books you’re looking forward to, too!)
Book Releases in June 2018
Smoke in the Sun, by Renee Ahdieh (June 5)
This has just been released! The second in the Flame in the Mist series (the first book is of the same name), I am stocked that there’s another novel in this world! Definitely need to grab myself a copy of this book this week.
A Reaper at the Gates, by Sabaa Tahir (June 12)
I really loved the first two in this series by Tahir. So looking forward to the third (though I really do need to have a quick recap of A Torch Against the Night before I do).
The Summer of Us, by Cecilia Vinesse (June 14)
Thanks to Hachette NZ, I already have a copy of this book, and look forward to reading it soon! You’ll be able to read a review of The Summer of Us on the blog in the next month.
Book Releases in July 2018
Heart of Thorns, by Bree Barton (July 31)
I think I’m gong to be favouring fantasy novels in the coming months. This one sounds a bit extreme, but definitely want to pick it up.
Grace and Fury, by Tracy Banghart (July 31)
Recently received this from Hachette NZ, and I am so looking forward to reading this one! As you can see it doesn’t come out until the end of July, so you’ll have to check back then to read my review of it!
The Supervillain and Me, Danielle Banas (July 10)
A few years back I read Sidekick by Auralee Wallace and really loved the superhero/villain concept in a YA story. While I still haven’t read Sidekick Returns (argh! Must get onto that!), I’m definitely keen for another superhero/villain story.
Book Releases in August 2018
These Rebel Waves, by Sara Raasch (August 7)
Pirates, raiders, magic – it’s already sounding like an epic adventure. Last year I read Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch, and while it wasn’t a 5-star read for me, I did quite enjoy it.
City of Ghosts, by Victoria Schwab (August 28)
I.am.so.excited.for.this.book! After falling in love with the Shades of Magic series (written under V.E. Schwab) I will literally read anything by her. She actually has two books coming out this year, which obviously makes 2018 one of the best years in recent history.
Dance of Thieves, by Mary E. Pearson (August 7)
This sounds like a great young adult fantasy novel, and while I haven’t read anything else by Pearson, I’m looking forward to picking this one up.
Seafire, by Natalie C. Parker (August 28)
Ah, a YA fantasy about female pirates? Yes please!
What winter book releases are you looking forward? Or summer ones, if you’re up north.
