Join me as I spend time visiting Stockholm
To be honest, I hadn’t ever thought about visiting Stockholm, Sweden. Not that I didn’t have any desire to, but it just wasn’t on my radar of places to head to from England.
But in a recent trip, piggybacking on my dad’s work trip, I had a really great time – it’s a beautiful country (at least in summer…I don’t think I’d cope with like 4 hours of light a day in winter…). Have a quick look at the other post; I told you guys about Wednesday – Friday when we were in Orebro. On Friday evening, we took a train to Stockholm, and another one down to Handen to see some family friends.
Then on Saturday, they showed us a bit around Stockholm itself. One of the first places we went was the building that holds that Nobel Prize in it (but not the peace one). We didn’t go in, because we only had a few hours in total but it was really cool to see where they took place. That’s the building in the top left-hand corner of the image above.

And then at about 4 pm we took another train to the airport (where we were actually delayed by two hours, so spent like 3.5 hours with nothing to do), took the 2.25-hour flight back to Heathrow, got the 3-hour bus ride back to here and by that stage it was about 1:30 am on Sunday morning and I collapsed in a tired heap…and didn’t wake up until 12:30 pm…
So concludes my adventures in Sweden. It was very fun, and I would love to go back there someday, for a longer period of time.
Have you ever spent time Visiting Stockholm, Sweden?
