Book Haul #18…

Here we are again. Another book haul. This one, however, happened before Christmas, and I didn’t post it. This is a little bit of a random mix of books, and also time that I purchased them. Unlike most of my books hauls, these weren’t all bought on the same day, and they were from different places too. There was actually only one that I really wanted, 2 that I knew of that I wanted to read but they weren’t on my ‘seriously, Anjali, you need to get a hold of these books’ list. And 2 I hadn’t heard of. What a mix. Anyway, here’s what I got:

On the Road, by Jack Kerouac
I’ve wanted to read this book for a long time. I don’t know what draws me to it, perhaps because it’s quoted all the time (all.the.time), or because it’s about travel and adventure, or simply because it’s a classic that I need to read. Whatever the reason, I could never find the Penguin Classics version of the book (the one that’s about $12), and could only find a more impressive looking one for over $25. Ah, no thank you. Finally I found it on Mighty Ape, and bought myself a copy. Still haven’t read it, but will get to it soon.

Fosterling, by Emma Neale
This one I hadn’t actually heard of at all. I found it in a sale bin for a couple of dollars, and thought it sounded interesting. It was only later that I discovered it was by a New Zealand author. You can read the Good Reads description here. I’ll let you know, no doubt, what I think of it.

Panic, by Lauren Oliver
After enjoying the Delirium series, I was really looking forward to this book. I’ve actually already read it, and you can read more about what I thought here.

Bad Half, by Sally Green
This was another one I actually hadn’t heard of before I found it in the sale bin. Turns out there’s a second one too, so if I enjoy this one, then you might see the second one in another book haul.

The Kill Order, by James Dashner
This is the prequel to The Maze Runner series, and I finally found a copy of it by Chicken House. I wanted it to match my other others (OCD much?), so I was excited when I found it. I have yet to read it, but I’m looking forward to reading about what happened before the events in the Maze Runner.
