With the incredibly exciting, we’ve-been-waiting-for-so-long-for-this release of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life this month, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to take a look back over the years of Gilmore Girls and look at the fashion of our favourite mother-daughter duo.
Other the years of Gilmore Girls, both Lorelai and Rory went through their fashion changes, but somehow they always rocked whatever they were wearing. Perhaps it was their big personalities that made the outfit work. But whatever it was, there was everything from t-shirts and sweaters to beautiful formal dress and jackets. Today, instead of just focusing on one character, we’re taking a look at the fashion of them both.
Lorelai Gilmore
Lorelai wore everything from crazy t shirts to girly, flowing tops. As I was putting this together all I could see was jackets. They both seem to have a lot of jackets (something hard to understand coming from a girl who has about *checks closet* yup 2). I tried to only put in a coupe of jackets per Gilmore. A few of these are Lauren Graham, as opposed to her character, but I liked her outfits too much not to include them!

Rory Gilmore
From turtle necks and large sweater knits to professional journalism student, Rory’s fashion changes quite a bit throughout the seasons. I love her ‘reading is sexy’ tshirt though, and it has to be a favourite. I also love her formal dinner-with-the-grandparents dresses. Again, a few might be Alexis Bledel, rather than Rory, but again, love her outfits.

Of course there are so many more great (and not-so-great) outfits from these amazing ladies, but there’s only so many you can put in one post. I’m seriously looking forward to watch A Year in the Life when it’s released on Netflix on the 25th of November. Between now and then, though, I have to finish watching season 7. Yup, I’m a little behind. Wish me luck!
A lot of these images were found on Worn On TV, and Shop Your TV. These are great sites you can go to and find out where you can buy clothes that TV characters wore. Check it out! You can also find outfits just by Googling the Season and Episode, or checking out sites like Celebrity Style Guide which also has movies and TV shows listed.
Will you be watching Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life?
