I don’t know about you, but I love doing themed crafts throughout the year, Granted, I don’t do as many crafts as I used to do – my passions are vast, and some seasons are more geared towards specific projects over others – but I do love picking up my crochet hooks on occasion and creating something. So what better time to discover some easy Halloween crochet projects that we can BOTH try out this year!
Crochet is one of those crafts that I really like because it’s so much faster than knitting. I’ve never been very good at knitting, and if I picked up knitting needles today, I’d probably need a recap on how to do it. But crochet? Sign me up.
A couple of years ago, I created some really cute Halloween crochet pumpkins that I loved, so I thought it would be fun to check out some of the other crochet patterns that are Halloween-esque and see what we could create this year.

Crochet Jack O Lantern Trick or Treat Bag – Loops and Lover Crochet
This is a super fun crochet pattern for Halloween. And it’s fast too, so you could whip up multiples for your family. I also like how you could use this pattern to create something non-Halloween-themed too.
Crocheted Ghost – 5 Little Monsters
Um how cute is this little crocheted ghost!? I can see myself making 10 of these and popping them around the house, or making a string of them. I think they’re adorable.
Zombie Free Crochet Pattern – Spin a Yarn Crochet
This is probably on the top-level beginner, almost intermediate skilled crocheter, but I think it’s a super fun zombie crochet pattern that would be worth giving it a go! I love how the eye pops out like that, the brains exposed and the bone at the leg. Lots of details that aren’t too tricky to pull off.
Cutest Candy Corn – Love + Stich Co.
Stop it. These are so adorable! I know I keep saying that but these candy corn crochet chappies are so cute! Take a look and tell me I’m wrong. Go on. You could really have some fun by creating different faces on them too, and they’re small enough that you could create a bunch in no time!
Halloween Puppets – Yarnspirations
Perfect for the kids, there are three different crochet puppets for Halloween options at Yarnspirations: Bat, Ghost and Pumpkin. The kids will be having puppet shows gallore!
Tunisian Crochet Pumpkin – 1 Dog Woof
I think crochet pumpkins are my favourite crochet projects to do. One year I think a I made about 10 … all different colours of orange, yellow, mustard, and green ones. Some of them were stripey too! These 1 Dog Woof Halloween pumpkins are easy to crochet, and there are two ways you could create them, but based on just one pattern.
Halloween Bunting – Yarnspirations
If I had to choose a fabric party decor item (other than fairy lights), it would be bunting. There is just so much you could do with it, so many different styles and types of bunting, that there is something for every single event. And Halloween is no different!
Witch Legs Scarf – The Crafter Life
This witch legs scarf by The Craft Life reminds me of the Wicked Witch of the West getting squashed by the house in the Wizard of Oz. And also these hilarious witches on brooms that have crashed into street lights in Astoria, Washington. But boy are they fun!
Spider Web Table Mat – Yarnspirations
Want an easy Halloween crochet pattern that’s a little less dramatic? If you make this spider web table mat in a more subtle colour than the neon green example yarn, then you’ve got yourself a great project!
The Be Witchy Wall-Hanging – Devine Debris
Okay now this is fun! Adding a wall hanging to your Halloween decor this year is a great way to quickly and easily spookify your home. This witchy wall-hanging by Devine Debris is a bit more complicated than some of the patterns in this list, but if you have a working knowledge of crochet you should be okay.
