Neil Gaiman's glorious reinvention of the iconic bestseller GOOD OMENS is adapted from the internationally beloved novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman and is soon to be a massive new TV launch on Amazon Prime Video and the BBC. The series is written and show-run by Neil himself and stars David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Jon Hamm and Miranda Richardson, to name but a few.
In 1990, dream literary collaborators Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman published 'the funniest book they could write' about the end of the world. Now, Neil Gaiman reinvents their groundbreaking classic for 2019 with his original shooting scripts from the show, and gives readers a unique insight into his adaptation and vision for translating this iconic novel to the screen in an introductory essay.
This all-new take on a tale about representatives of good and evil who join forces to prevent the coming apocalypse (which is scheduled to happen on a Saturday, just after tea) will be a joy for fans and new readers alike.

A few days ago the ‘Good Omens’ TV show was released upon the world.
I, for one, am very excited to get into the show after reading the book a few years ago and really enjoying it. From what I’ve seen so (granted, just the teaser trailer and the full trailer) it already looks so good!
If you’re unfamiliar with the general plot of Good Omens:
According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world’s only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.
So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon—both of whom have lived amongst Earth’s mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle—are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.
And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist . . .
Good Omens follows a demon named Crowley and an angel named Aziraphale who have been living out their days on earth, and have been having the time of their lives. When the Apocalypse is suddenly on their doorstep, they do everything they can to try and stop it. But the trouble is, they’ve lost the Antichrist. In short, it’s a hilarious oddball of a book written by two well-known British authors, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, that has become a classic.
“An Angel who did not so much Fall as Saunter Vaguely Downwards.”
The Quite Nice and Fairly Accurate Good Omens Script Book
In 2015 the world lost Terry Pratchett, but one of his request to Gaiman was that Good Omens become a TV show. Gaiman then started writing, and what I now hold in my hands is that complete TV show script in book form. As well as a line-by-line, as-you’ll-see-it-on-the-screen script, this book is full of deleted scenes and other titbits of the book-to-screen process from Gaiman.
Won’t there be spoilers if you read it, Anjali? you ask. Of course there will be. It’s a script book. But what I’m planning on doing is watching a episode, then picking up the book to have another read-through and also get any other fun pieces of information and deleted scenes I can from the book. That way I would have watched the episode, know what I’m getting in the book, and then be able to add to my story experience with the additional features.
If you’d like to get your hands on The Quite Nice and Fairly Accurate Good Omens Script Book then you can now find it all good bookstores.
Have you started the show yet? Keen to get your hands on this book!? Let me know!
