goodreads 2017

It feels like just yesterday we were gearing up for Y2K. And now here we are in 2017. Incredible.

With another year comes another lot of books that will be read, and a new Challenge on Good Reads begins. In 2016 my challenge number was 40, and I read 42 books. While it’s not my highest number for books read in a year, I’m happy with it.

I feel like every year gets busier, or rather I’m involved with more things. I think for 2017 I’m going to keep my challenge at 40 this year and see how we go. I’ll reevaluate the situation mid-year, like I usually do.

As part of our upcoming group post over at Blogger’s Bookshelf, we choose 5 books that we vow to read in the upcoming year. Most years I don’t make it to all 5, but I really want to try and do that this year. Hopefully I actually will, rather than just make a pointless list of books that I won’t read. Look out for that post coming soon to find out which books I vow to read.

In the meantime, I’m already powering through my first read of 2017, The Magician King by Lev Grossman. I’m really enjoying it, so hopefully it marks the beginning of another fantastic reading year.
