I have another fantastic gust post for you all today! This is Laura, who blogs with me (and some other lovely ladies) over at Blogger’s Bookshelf. Today she is here to show you a fantastic DIY superhero coffee table that is actually the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life! Enjoy!

DIY superhero coffee table

Hello lovely From L&P to English Tea readers. I am Laura, and I am super excited to share this post with you. Now I’m not usually one to do lots of DIY or crafty things but when we got this Ikea table home and it was damaged we knew it was time to get our DIY on. (Mostly because Ikea is over an hour away and it wasn’t worth returning a £16 table!)

So we decided to it time to covered the dents with something we love… superheroes. We headed out and bought 5 comics of our favourite superheroes (Ironman, Batman, Avengers, Hulk and Green Lantern) along with ordering some Mod Podge (although we have learnt that this one is better).

We picked out our favourite pages and glued them down randomly to both the top and shelf of the coffee table. Once it was dry we piled lots of heavy books on top to squish down any air bubbles that has formed.

Next is when you need lots of patience. We then had to cover it with 5 layers of Mod Podge, yes 5 layers to make sure it was all nice and covered and protected – allowing it to dry for a few hours in between each layer of glue.

That’s the finished product, what do you think? We’re pretty pleased with it (although we’re waiting to get some spray sealer to stop the tackiness). Next Mod Podge project? I think I might tackle my boring bookcase, maybe cover it in a classic novel.
Anyway hope you enjoyed this post and thank you Anjali for letting me guest post.

Oh.My.Goodness! Isn’t that the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen!? I love this so so much! I think I’m going to have to grab this idea and cover something with book pages. A-mah-zing! Thank you, Laura, so much for this! If you’d like to say hey to Laura, or to give her a virtual high five for creating such an awesome table, you can find her here:
