Fun fact of the day: I haven’t had a Spring in 18 months. That’s what happens when you move hemispheres. I haven’t had spring since March – May 2013. When we left England in January, it was in the middle of winter. When we arrived in New Zealand, it was the middle of summer. Then autumn came and went, and then winter, and only now is it spring. My last 18 months went spring, summer, autumn, winter, summer, autumn, winter…spring. That’s a long time without spring, my friends! Thankfully it’s not my favourite seasons, and I managed to get my favourite season (autumn) twice in less than a year.

But it’s really nice to see the flowers coming out here in New Zealand at the moment, and there are lambs in the paddocks and everyone is feeling just a little more chipper than usual. It’s still on the cool side occasionally, but we’re rocking temperatures in the late teens here in Auckland, and while I’m not looking forward to a boiling hot, humid, Auckland summer (blergh!), it’s very pleasant at the moment. I’m still getting away with light scarves, so that’s a plus in my books. I thought today I’d just share some of the pictures I’ve taken in the past few weeks, some of them in the rain. Because that’s spring for ya! (You can see more pictures like these (and others!) on my Facebook Photography page: Anjali Kay Photography)

And then there was a bug stuck in a spider’s web…poor bug.

What hemisphere do you live in? Are you getting out your woollies? Or putting them away?
