Welcome to the BoMoSh!
If you missed last month’s post, the BoMoSh is a post for Books, Movies and Shows. I’ll be sharing what I’ve read and seen in the last month, and I always welcome suggestions for books, shows and movies. Leave me a comment if you think there’s something that I might enjoy.
Books | 6.5
- Evermore, by Sara Holland
- The Hobbit, from BBC Radio 4 Dramatised Version
- King of Scars, by Leigh Bardugo
- Love Lie Repeat, by Catherine Greer
- One of Us is Lying, by Karen M. McManus
- The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy, by Mackenzi Lee
- Half of Girl, Stop Apologising, by Rachel Hollis
This month was a mix of review copies of books, one I read for the Blogger’s Bookshelf Book Club April theme (okay, one half – didn’t quite manage to finish Girl, Stop Apologising but it’s an ongoing read rather than a sit down and read it all in one sitting kind of book), and an audio book.
Movies | 3
- Anastasia (1998)
- The Perfect Date (2019)
- Avengers: Endgame (2019)
You guys, one word: Endgame. That’s all I’m going to say because it only came out like…less than a week ago and we can’t talk about it yet.
In other movie news, I re-watched Anastasia because I love it so much and it’s so underrated, and also The Perfect Date which is a newbie to Netflix. Highly predictable, but thoroughly enjoyable. I’m off on a long-haul flight this week, so I’m going to be getting in a quite a few more movies in our May BoMoSh, so let’s see what I end up watching!
Shows
I signed up to Neon literally so I could watch Game of Thrones. But I suspect the majority of New Zealand did that because it’s hard to find here in little ol’ NZ. Well done Neon/Sky. Well done. While I had planed to just cancel my subscription to Neon (already having Netflix) after GoT ended (foreveeeer! So sad), I actually think I’ll keep it as it has some of my favourite shows on it that I haven’t actually finished watching, such as Supernatural, Nashville, Grey’s Anatomy, iZombie, and then a few that I’ve seen the odd episode of but that I need to keep watching. It might be a long-lasting relationship, Neon and I. We’ll see.
Other than GoT, I finally finished The Umbrella Academy and I’m looking forward to another season of that. I’ve also watched Splitting Up Together, which is a 20min show that actually makes me laugh out loud. Riverdale, Shadowhunters, and Rowell: New Mexico have all been weekly shows that I’ve been keeping up to date with, but I keep forgetting to watch The Passage, so that’s been put on the backburner for now.
The 100 Season 5 and Lucifer Season 4 are both coming to Netflix ANZ this month, so I’m looking forward to catching up on those!
What have you read and watched this past month?
