While I haven’t been to the movies in a while (okay, so that’s a lie…I went on the 1st of Jan to see Madagascar Penguins…), mostly because I have a lack of people to go with. But because my best friend is living up here now, movies will be a happening thing this year, I can feel it. Also, I discovered that the little local cinema it’s only $10 from Sundays-Wednesdays. So I might even go by myself (eek, okay I don’t think I can do that…). Anyway, whether I see these movies at the cinema or I wait until they’re out on DVD, or it literally takes me years to see them, I really do want to see them. And I will. One day.

Here are 13 movies that are coming out some time this year that I’m excited about:

Into the Woods
Release month: Januaray
Okay, so I’m putting this one at the top because it’s already come out. But I haven’t seen it yet, and I really want to. Good ol’ Disney.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Release month: April
Um another Avengers movie? Sure I might go and see it…who am I kidding. This one I will be first in line for. I love the Marvel films, and I love it when characters come together like this. Pumped.

Insurgent
Release month: March
Okay, secret: I haven’t actually seen Divergent yet. Eek! *gasp* I know! The books are one of my favourite series – I love them – but I didn’t see it at the movies, and then I wanted to watch it with friends rather than myself, but it hasn’t happened yet, so I think I’m just gonna go right ahead and watch it by myself. Maybe tonight…

Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens
Release month: December
Ah, need I say anything at all?
Okay, actually though, this is either going to be absolutely incredible, or absolutely ridiculously just…no. But let’s face it, it’s probably going to be the former…because it’s Star Wars.

Cinderella
Release Month: March
I am super excited about this movie! Disney, you’re amazing! I also enjoy how Cinderella is played by Lily James, who is Rose in Downton Abbey.

Jupiter Ascending
Release month: February
Another Sci-Fi movie? Yes please. Especially one featuring Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum. The description is “In the future, a young destitute human woman gets targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe, and begins her destiny to finish the Queen’s reign.” Sounds awesome!
Pan
Release Month: July
Another Peter Pan movie? Yes, yes, it’s been done a thousand times, but this one looks like an awesome adaptation. Also…Hugh Jackman. That’s all.

Pitch Perfect 2
Release Month: May
How funny was the first one?! Hilarious. Yes, very much looking forward to the second.

Inside Out
Release Month: July
Eep! Another Pixar film! Okay, ‘Disney Pixar’. But it’s totally more Pixar than Disney. This looks so super cute; it’s about the emotions that live inside a little girl’s mind. So cute!
Tomorrowland
Release Month: May
Okay, this movie looks so intriguing! I’ve wathced the trailer a few times now, and seriously…it looks so neat! Also I really like Britt Robertson, and, of course, George Clooney.

Minions
Release Month: July
Eeeeeeeee!

Home
Release Month: March
Saw the trailer for this a few weeks ago and thought it looked so cute! It looks really funny too, so hopefully this is another kids’ movie that I’m going to love.

Mocking Jay: Part 2
Release Month: November
I’ve been really loving these movies. I think they’re done an incredible job at telling the story by Suzanne Collins. Really looking forward to (argh! November!) seeing the second/last one.
Paper Towns
Release Month: June
I really really liked this book; it was really great. I’m really looking forward to the movie. Hopefully it’ll be as good The Fault in our Stars was.

Okay so there are probably way more, and movies that I will watch that aren’t on this list, but that’s eough for today.

What movies are you looking forward to this year?
