Colour Cluster Macaw

My first memory of a Macaw was literally in the 1998 movie, The Real Macaw. I don’t remember the movie much, what it was about, or why I was even watching it. I just remember the bird.

Can I tell you a secret? Birds like this actually kind of creep me out. I think it’s the size – they’re bigger than birds should be (don’t even get me started on the Albatross or Emu), but small enough that they will still fly at your and peck your eyes out. Too far? Too gruesome for this time of day? Apologies. But it’s true.

It doesn’t stop them being beautiful birds though, and this image (taken by Andrew Pons on Unsplash) is no exception. I love the blues and yellows, and a little bit of green. I’ve tried to pick out some of the less intense colours in this image, though, and I hope that they are inspiring to you.
