The Rapid Fire Book Tag

This book tag was originally created by GirlReading on YouTube, and has been taken up by a vast array of bloggers and vloggers alike. This is a super quick (duh) book tag, but it’s definitely a fun one. I’ve fleshed out my answers just a little bit, but if you want to join in, one word answers will do! Let’s just get straight into it.

1. E-Book or Physical Book?

Physical Book. Mostly because I find them easier to read. I like the tactical aspect, and the smell of a new book beats everything.

2. Paperback or Hardback?

Both. I like paperback for the fact that they’re easy to crack the spine and they are generally smaller and so therefore you can fit more on your shelf. But hardback because they seem to sit more nicely in your hand, and they look more professional.

3. Online or In-Store Book Shopping?

Online for books I know will be cheaper there, but book stores when I want to browse or find a gift for someone. Or I need the book immediately.

4. Trilogies or Series?

Depends on the books, but usually trilogies. Or trilogies set in the same world.

5. Heroes or Villains?

Heroes, but I’m a sucker for an awesome villain too.

6. A book you want everyone to read?

Strange the Dreamer, by Laini Taylor. Definitely a favourite from this year!

7. Recommend an underrated book?

Carnival of Souls, by Marissa Marr. People don’t seem to really know about it, at least in my circles, but I really enjoyed it.

8. The last book you finished?

Everybody Hurts, by Joanna Nadin and Anthony McGowan

9.The Last Book You Bought?

10. Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?

Crisps/chips packet. Don’t judge me. You’ve done it too. At least it’s not as weird as some of these bookmarks.

11. Used Books: Yes or No?

Yes, totally, but I also love a new book.

12. Top Three Favourite Genres?

Young Adult, Fantasy, and Dystopian.

13. Borrow or Buy?

Both, but if it’s a book I know I’ll like then I buy it.

14. Characters or Plot?

Both. Because without Plot the characters wouldn’t need to do anything. Without Characters, there’d be not plot to carry out. Both need to be good.

15. Long or Short Books?

Short, but not novella. A decent 300-400 page book is where it’s at.

16. Long or Short Chapters?

Short. Because ‘one more chapter’ gets you super late into the night if they’re long.

17. Name The First Three Books You Think Of…

Harry Potter series, A Darker Shade of Magic, Eleanor and Park.

18. Books That Makes You Laugh or Cry?

Oh man. Um Harry Potter makes me do both.

19. Our World or Fictional Worlds?

Fictional worlds within our world.

20. Audiobooks: Yes or No?

Yes, but not all the time. I listened to a whole bunch one year when I was doing mindless jobs at work.

21. Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?

All the time. Not really on purpose, but sometimes on purpose…

22. Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?

Depends on the books, but I feel a TV show can get into more detail. Really enjoyed the adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events.

23. A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?

Stardust, by Neil Gaiman. Don’t hurt me.

24. Series or Standalone’s?

Both. I love a good stand-alone, but I also love diving into an entire series.
