From what you know of me, the things I like, the things I post about, the books I read, the music I listen to…what would you think I majored in at University? English, perhaps? Or maybe even a fine arts degree, making use of my more creative side? Or it’s quite possible I even majored in something like IT or design. *buzzing noise* wrong. I have, my friends, a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Philosophy.
Gasps all round, I know. Who in their right mind does a Philosophy degree? I’ll tell you who – no one.
But those of us not in our right minds can get through Philosophy like a bibliophile can get through a book, or a sugar addict can get through a whole box of donuty-goodness. For those of us not in our right minds, Philosophy was perfect. It does mean, however, that jobs are limited (people don’t really like to pay you for sitting in an arm chair in front of the fire, wrapped in a dressing gown, wearing slippers and smoking a pipe, trying to grow a beard), but it does mean that we’re a little be geeky, and we love all things philosophy and understand puns that don’t sound like puns.
It means we get excited by sites like The Unemployed Philosophers’ Guild and secretly wish we worked there and designed all these hilarious items.
But for now, we just click through the pages, wanting at least one thing from every category, and wish we had a better-paying job so we could buy it all.
What I love about The Unemployed Philosophers’ Guild is that they don’t just sell quirky Philosophy-related items. There’s everything from artists, to composers, to Doctor Who, to music, to pop culture. So great!

You can find these items on the website – some of them are now unaviabale, but you’ll be able to find others that are similar.
Disclaimer: The Unemployed Philosopher’s Guild did not ask me to write this (unfortunately – guys, I’ve available for reviews!). These are simply items that I love.
