Thatâs what we want, right? Lots of blog traffic so we can inspire others, maybe educate them, encourage them, and/or make a living. But how do we do that without sucking every hour of the day away? How do we grow blog traffic without sacrificing time with our families? Our friends? Our well-being?
Donât worry. Iâve got some ideas you can think about. All of these are possibly part of what youâre doing already – youâre just cranking it up a teeny bit.
How to grow blog traffic without working too hard
1. Create easy posts
Still high-quality, but make it easier for yourself. Try swapping out one of your regular schedule slots with a post thatâs easy to create, like a list post. I think they’re one of the fastest blog posts to create!
Instead of writing a detailed tutorial that takes hours, create a âTop 10 Tipsâ list on a relevant topic. List posts are quick to put together, easy to read, and often highly shareable. For instance, if you run a travel blog, a post like âTop 10 Packing Tips for Summer Travelâ can be both useful and engaging without spending hours and hours on it.
Creating easier posts that are still full of value allows you to keep up the consistency, and keep putting out blog content that will help grow blog traffic. Of course, you’ll want to make sure the quality is still high and that you’re popping in those more in-depth blog posts every so often. But it’s a good way to get more content out there quickly.
2. Leverage Pinterest
Pinterest can be a goldmine for driving traffic to your blog with minimal effort. I create Pinterest Pins maybe once a month and then schedule them out. The whole ordeal takes me about an hour, maybe two. But then these Pins continue to drive traffic to my blog, year after year. Literally. Years later I still get traffic from those Pins.
Design visually appealing Pins using free tools like Canva, link them to relevant blog posts and use a scheduler like Tailwind to automate your Pinning. For example, if you have a food blog, create Pins for each recipe with yummy images and descriptive titles that people are excited to click.
Pinterest is a search engine, and your Pins can bring in a steady stream of visitors over time. Make sure you’re using keywords on Pinterest, too! A few hours invested in creating and scheduling Pins can result in continuous blog post traffic without constant effort. Which we LOVE.
3. Use keywords strategically
Make sure youâre using keywords from the get-go. You can create every blog post out there, but if it doesnât actually have keywords suitable for your blog, itâs for nought. This is an easy step before you write your blog post that pays off astronomically in the long run.
Before writing your next blog post, spend a few minutes researching keywords related to your topic using tools like Google Keyword Planner or Ubersuggest.
For example, if you run a fitness blog, you might find that âhome workout routinesâ is a popular search term and will work well for your blog. By popping this keyword naturally into your blog post, title, and meta descriptions, you improve your chances of ranking higher on search engine results pages.
This small upfront effort can significantly increase your blogâs visibility and traffic over time. If you’re not familiar with keywords, check out the masterclass in The Blogging Room to help you out.
