Book Haul #2…

With another book haul sitting on my every-crowded bedroom floor, I thought I had better let you all in on what I’ve bought this time. If you can recall a few weeks ago I posted about Book Haul #1, in which I explained about books being expensive in NZ and that I’m stocking up. Well, I’m still stocking up, and my Christmas wish list consists on mostly books. Not as many in this book haul, but still awesome! These were all bought from Amazon (who I’m sure going to go bust after I leave the country), and they arrived last week sometime (I think?).
Here we go then!

The City of Bones series, by Cassandra Clare
I love love love these books. They are probably one of my favourite series, but I haven’t managed to read the most recent ones yet. My best friend had them all, so I read them when I lived with her. Because I know it’s a series I will read and re-read, I felt no guilt whatsoever in buying the entire series. I’ve already read City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass (those are the first three), but have yet to read City of Fallen Angels and City of Lost Souls. I’m really looking forward to reading them though! If you haven’t read them, and enjoy fantasy novels, do have a read of these ones. I don’t know what the movie is like, as I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m just assuming the the book is better, as that’s usually the case.

The Casual Vacancy, by J.K. Rowling
Yes, this book. Thought I had better buy it and read it to see what it’s like. Sort of looking forward to reading it (maybe?), to see how she writes in a different genre, but a little scared that I won’t like it at the same time. You know how it is.

Moon over Soho, by Ben Aaronovitch
Last book haul I had bought Rivers of London and Whispers Underground by Ben Aaronovitch, but then I realised that those were the 1st and the 3rd, so I had to get the second. Makes sense, right?

The Perks of Being a Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky 
This has been on my to-read list for a while now, and what with the movie being released last year I thought I had better read it, and fast. It saw this on Amazon for super cheap, so I thought ‘If I don’t get it now, I probably never will’. Looking forward to reading it (quite possibly in one sitting, as it’s quite short), and then after that I can watch the movie. I always like to read the book before the movie…

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: The Trilogy of Four, by Douglas Adams
I think I’ve read the first one of these books before, but it was so long ago that I don’t really remember it. All I remember is the move, and I think I saw that before I read the first one. The opposite of what normally happens. But I really wanted to re-read it and then read the others, so I thought it made sense, therefore, to buy them as a set like this. It was also about half the price. I think this is going to be the book that I take on the journey home to New Zealand, because it’s super big, but also super awesome.

Book haul #2 complete! Only 7 books in this haul this time, rather than the 15 in the first one. But there are so many books I would love to have…and only so much money.
