Well the book hauls are back. But only for 2 weeks and then … well, you can never be too sure about these sorts of things. This past month or so I’ve been blessed with a few book vouchers from lovely people, so naturally, I found the deals at the store (helllooo ‘buy one get one half price’) and bought up large.
This is a bit of a random bunch of books today. There’s a historical-fiction, an ‘autobiography’, and then 2 young adult novels. But I tihnk that sort of sums me up really – a random collection of things that don’t really go together but I love them anyway. My life is so full of things that don’t really go together. Even just little things like having too many hobbies and not really having one or two I can stick with – there’s not one or two book genres I can stick to either. Ah well.

Lord of the Silver Bow, by David Gemmell
The story of Troy. Well, one of them. This book was one that my good friend suggested I read. A while back (last year sometime) we exchanged book lists of our favourites that the other might enjoy. I’ve only read 1 on his list, so I when I saw this book in the opshop, I grabbed it up. It’s a bit of a door-stop book, so it may have to wait until summer. But I am looking forward to a bit of historical-fiction at some point.
The Unauthorized Autobiography, by Lemony Snicket
This book as always intrigued me. Being a lover of A Series of Unfortunate Events, Snicket’s other books have always grabbed my attention. While it’s a little silly perhaps, and just a short wee thing, it should be good and just as entertaining and hilariously written as the great children’s series.
Double Cross, by Malorie Blackman
Last year I managed to buy books 1-3 in this series, and while I haven’t yet started them, when I saw Double Cross at the store in the sale, I knew I had to pick it up and add it to my series collection. The Naughts and Crosses series is one I’ve been meaning to read for ages, but one of those ones I haven’t quite got around to yet. Now that I have the entire series sitting waiting patiently for me, it might kick my A into G a bit more to pick up the first one.
Ten Thousand Skies Above You, by Claudia Gray
I really enjoyed the first in this recent series by Claudia Gray, A Thousand Pieces of You. You can read my review of that here on Blogger’s Bookshelf. I just love the covers of these books too, so pretty!
So that’s a mini haul. Next week’s haul is slightly bigger, and another one bought with vouchers again.
Bought any books recently? Or read any good ones? Let me know!
