Fandom of the Month Club is back…with Mary Poppins!

You may have noticed a severe lack of Fandom of the Month Club posts on the blog over the past year or so, and that’s because the team that runs this geeky subscription box has been having drama after drama with manufacturers and suppliers, and a whole raft of those things. They took a bit of a break to re-collaborate and are just finishing off the past boxes which people had ordered, before getting back into the full swing of things.

While it’s August now, I think this Mary Poppins subscription box was actually meant to be the April box (although that could be wrong – it’s been a bit tricky trying to work it out). But whatever the case, it’s here and it’s pretty darn neat.

Information card and bag

Each month/time they send one out, everything comes in a little bag but this is first one with this sort of full-material rather than screen printed with a quote or an image to do with that month’s particular fandom. To be honest, I had completely forgotten that this was the Mary Poppins box, and when I opened the envelope (not sent in a box this round) the floral bag didn’t help me figure it out. But it’s super pretty and I can’t wait to use it.

The info card has FOTMC’s information and social media on the other side. I believe this image on the front is meant to be a chalk drawing from the movie, but I’ve only just figured that out. Ha.

Merry-go-Round necklace

We were teased this item a few months ago, and it’s so sweet! I’ve actually just made a bright pink jacket and it has yellow lining, so when I saw the colours on this necklace I knew exactly what I was going to wear it with.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious bangle

I have quite a few of these simple bangles now from FOMTC. I don’ wear that much, but this one is really fun! I’m impressed the word fits.

Kite Earrings

These are by far my favourite item in the box this time round. How cool are these?! We were actually teased these as well, but so long ago I couldn’t remember them. I’ve already worn them a few times and had some comments. I love them!

Mary Poppins necklace

Would a Mary Poppins themed box be complete without something of our fave nanny flying off with her umbrella? No. It wouldn’t. This necklace is quite dainty and I really like it. I haven’t worn it yet, but I’m excited to add it to my collection.

There was no magnet this month, and while that’s sad as the magnets are so neat, it’s totally understandable in regards to the drama they’ve had.

I’m looking forward to FOMTC being fully operational again (Star Wars reference, anyone?), and am so looking forward to some of the future boxes. Erin and the team at FOTMC have told us that the upcoming boxes include Percy Jackson/Mythology, Lord of the Rings, Princess Bride (ohmygosh), Aladdin, and others. While they’ve already done a Percy Jackson box and a LOTR box twice before, the items will be different and I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

Did you get this Mary Poppins box? Which piece is your favourite?
