The world is big and wide and full of adventure and I love exploring new places, trying new things, and meeting new people. But when you love to travel, the bank account is never that happy. So we need to figure out how to find the best holiday packages and make the most of those cheap travel deals.

And it’s easier than you might think.

In this post, we’re going to take a look at a variety of things you can do to be in the know when it comes to booking cheap holiday packages. Whether that be cruises around the Mederterrtanian, taking a weekend vacation in the big city, jumping on a plane or taking a long back-packing trip … there are so many holiday packages out there that you can take advantage of. You just need to know how to find them.

Sign up for mailing lists

Signing up for a mailing list – whether that be from travel agents, booking websites, travel companies, or travel blogs – is a great way to instantly be in the know when it comes to holiday packages.

While we probably don’t need another mailing list to be on – how many emails do you get a day?! Quite a few, I’d hazard a guess – this one is going to be beneficial. Promise. Companies will often send out holiday packages and vacation deals, sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly. And this means you’re the first to know.

Follow travel agencies on Social Media

Travel posts reign arguably supreme on Instagram. So why not follow some Travel agencies? When there are sales, holiday packages and other cheap deals (and if their social media manager is doing their job), they’ll be posted on IG and other platforms.

Pop on your notification so you’re notified every time they post, and you never know what sort of deals you’ll discover.

Ask your travel agent for deals

Having a travel agent make your booking is so beneficial for your trip. And if you’re booking through a travel agent then they’re going to be aware of the best holiday packages around.

Ask your travel agent to find the best holiday packages for the time of year you want to head away, and see what they can come up with.

Look for package deals on websites

No travel agent? No worries! Check out travel websites (travel companies, travel blogs etc) and be on the lookout for holiday deals. you’ll find that often websites like this will put on last-minute deals and you’ll be able to book a holiday for a lot cheaper if you’re flexible with your dates (more on that soon), and you’re not too bothered with where you’re headed.

Websites will also have seasonal deals, such as Christmas packages or summer sales. You can book you’re entire holiday or just flights, or just accommodation, etc.

Book in advance

One of the best tips if you’re wondering how to book the best holiday packages is by booking in advance. Look out for those packages which are for the next season, or in the summer if you’re currently in winter. The further out you book, often the cheaper they are.

If you’re not as concerned about price, booking ahead is still a good thing to do – it means it’s easier to make changes if you need to or to adjust flights, lengthen or shorten your stay, and gives you extra time to plan around your holiday.

Be flexible with your dates

The best holiday packages sometimes aren’t at the best times. That’s just how it is. You get more bang for your buck if you’re flexible with your dates. Many holiday packages are not only last-minute but they’re limited to specific date ranges. These sorts of packages for holidays aren’t for the super planned. Or rather, not the super pre-planned. You can plan your trip once it’s booked, but you may need to be flexible with your dates, to begin with.

Have you found some of the best holiday packages yet? What’s been your favourite holiday?
