Welcome to the Galentine’s Day Book Tag!
If you’re unfamiliar, Galentine’s Day is the day after Valentine’s Day, and it was created by Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation. (Okay, so it was created by the creators of Parks and Rec, but you know what I mean.) It’s a day to celebrate all your lady friends, according to Leslie. So I thought it would be fun to put together a Galentine’s Day Book Tag to celebrate some of the epic fictional women from the books we know and love
Note: I haven’t seen another Galentine’s Day Book Tag, so this might be the first one. Or not! If there’s another one around the place, please let me know! I’d love to check it out. If you decide to do this Galentine’s Day Book Tag, I’d love to see your answers! Let me know you’ve done it in the comments and where I can find it!
I’ve created a copy-and-paste version of this book tag below as well, so you can easily grab it. Let’s get into it!

Your favourite women friendships in a book
Kicking off the book tag with a classic Galentine’s Day question! I love Leslie and Anne’s relationship in Parks and Recreation, so this was a must-have question.
Some of my favourite friendships (women) in books are, in no particular order, Hermione and Ginny from the Harry Potter series, Nina and Inej from Six of Crows Duology, Emma and Cristina from Lady Midnight, and Cath and Reagan from Fangirl.
Favourite author/s (woman)
There are some authors that I will read basically no matter what they write. They are:
- Leigh Bardugo
- Sarah J Maas
- Rainbow Rowell
- Laini Taylor
- VE Schwab
- Cassandra Clare
With shout-outs to Astrid Scholte, Becky Albertalli, Victoria Aveyard, Holly Black, Mackenzi Lee, and Kerri Maniscalco.
Two women from different books you’d love to see in a story together
Delilah Bard from A Darker Shade of Magic paired with Celaena Sardothien from Throne of Glass would either be the best combination for world domination or they’d tear each other apart. I can’t quite tell. But either way, I think it would be beautiful chaos.
Design a dinner party with 3 – 5 fictional women you’d love to invite
Inej from Six of Crows, Addie from The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue (although chances are I wouldn’t be able to invite her – if you know you know), Felicity from The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Pirates, and maybe Professor McGonagal because it would be hilarious seeing her interact with the others.
Why have I chosen these 4? Mostly because I really like all these characters, but also they’re all very different and I think, while they wouldn’t have that much in common, they could share some pretty epic stories between them.

A fictional woman who inspires you or you’ve learnt something from
I’ve always loved the fact that Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter) is so herself. She’s a bit different, she’s quirky, she’s creative, she’s so HER, and there’s so much we can learn from her. Never be afraid of being wholly yourself.
Favourite quote from or about a fictional woman
I hate myself for adding this in because there are so many great quotes I could add here! Here are a few that spring to mind straight away, and we’ll leave it there.
“Anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.” – Ginny Weasley, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
“I’d rather die on an adventure than live standing still.” – Delilah Bard, A Darker Shade of Magic
“You could rattle the stars.” – Celaena Sardothien, Throne of Glass
Favourite familial pair (mother-daughter, sisters, aunt-niece etc)
I love the friendships between the March sisters (and also their mother) in Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I grew up reading and loving this book (and movie – the one with Winona Ryder), and yes the recent remake was wonderful!
The Song-Covey sisters are an epic trio of joy, from Jenny Han’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series.
A fictional woman you wish you were friends with
Like, all of them? 😂 But seeing as I wrote this book tag, I better answer properly.
I’d love to be friends with Nina from Six of Crows because she is SO sassy and enjoys good food. Hermione Granger because she’d be a great asset in a quiz team. Eowyn from The Lord of the Rings because she’s pretty kick-ass and she’d slay monsters for me (I’m not up for that). Violet from A Series of Unfortunate Events because she is so super smart and she could teach me all about inventing super useful things.
