If you’ve been hanging around the blog for a while now, then you will probably know that I love the rain.

It’s because of this love of the rain that I think spurred on the epic rain adventures I used to have with Jessie (from Nailed It NZ). You’ll know by now that we’ve known each other since we were 8 years old, and we were neighbours for years and years and years, well this resulted in funny times and good memories. One of those memories being rain adventures.

I can’t remember how or why or even how we decided that’s what we were going to do (it was, after all, years ago), but whenever it would rain, I would run to her house and we would set out into the wet weather for a rain adventure. That’s literally what we called them. Rain adventures.

What did a rain adventure look like?

Basically we just went on a traipse of her property (it was really big, with paddocks/fields, large trees to climb, chicken coops, a line of trees and shrubs, sheep pens…and sheep, and the creek I mentioned a few weeks ago), climbing over things, scrambling up trees and battling our way through the wet undergrowth. I don’t remember if we pretended we were anybody in particular, I think we just ran and played and got wet…but it was great fun.

After the rain stopped, we would go inside, dripping all other her mum’s floor, grab towels, dry off…and then I either stayed on for a little while…or I simply went home.

The rain had stopped, the adventure was over. Until the next down pour..
