Ready to DIY Pumpkin Bunting?

It’s nearly Halloween time! Yesterday I shared with you guys some neat ideas for decorating our house for Halloween, and one of things I added was pumpkin bunting. I actually made these a few years ago now, but I think they’re super cute.  I’ve never really been one to hard-out do anything for Halloween, but I do like to do something. These are cute and small and not too Halloween-y.

It’s super easy to do, and I think they turned out well! Here’s how I did it, and how you can too!

What you’ll need:

  • Orange paper or card
  • Black paper or card
  • Scissors
  • Washi tape
  • Normal sticky tape, or masking tape
  • String or wool

1. Cut out pumpkin shapes from the orange paper/card.

2. You’ll also need little black stems. Cut them so that one end is narrower than the other.

3. Take your washi tape and simply stick it on the pumpkin however you’d like. I went with vertical, but you could do horizontal, or criss cross, or diagonal too.

4. At the top of the pumpkin, peel away (gently) a little bit of the middle washi tape line, and stick the stem between the pumpkin and the washi tape. I hope that makes sense. I found this easier than just gluing it on.

5. Cut the bits of washi tape that have overlapped the pumpkin.

6. Using normal sticky tape, attach string or wool to the backs of the pumpkins to turn your pumpkins into bunting!

Super simple, and they look quite cool too.
