the bookshelf scavenger hunt book tag

I love the idea of this book tag: The Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt Tag.

It was actually a tad difficult at some points, and I really had to think about it. I first saw this tag on GoWithFlick’s channel on YouTube, and she had so handily put all the items to be found in a list in her description.

There were some of these that I knew straight away, and could grab them like that *snaps fingers*, but then there were some where I literally had to hunt my entire house. I ended up borrowing a book or two from my sister too, but shhh. Don’t tell her. Anyway, let’s get into it.

1. Find an author’s name or title with the letter Z in it

Maze Runner, by James Dashner

2. Find a classic

Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen

3. Find a book with a key on the cover

The Magician King, by Lev Grossman

4. Find something on your bookshelf that is not a book

Pop vinyl figure of Newt Scamander.

5. Find the oldest book on your shelf

Pilgrim’s Progress. 1826 original print, this copy isn’t that old, but it’s still probably the oldest on my shelf.

6. Find a book with a girl on the cover

Court of Thorns and Roses, by Sarah J Maas

I actually over 120 books with girls on the cover.

7. Find a book with an animal on the cover

The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins

8. Find a book with a male protagonist

Variant, by Robison Wells

9. Find a book with only words on it

Plague, by Michael Grant

10. Find a book with illustrations in it

The Wide Window, by Lemony Snicket

11. Find a book with gold lettering on the cover

Disruption, by Jessica Shirvington

12. Find a diary

The Diary of Anne Frank, by Anne Frank

13. Find a book written by someone with a common name (eg. Smith)

An Abundance of Katherines, by John Green

14. Find a book that has a close up of something on it

The Host, by Stephanie Meyer

15. Find a hardcover book without a jacket

Fairy Tales and Folk Tales

16. Find a teal/turquoise coloured book

17. Find a book with stars on it
