I’ve discovered a tilt-shift photography hack

I’ve been taking photos for a long time now, and even though there’s no way I’m a professional, nor do I shoot much more than friends, family, events, and blog photography, I do love playing around with some of the funky functions on my editing programmes. One of the things that I discovered recently was how to create this tilt-shift photography hack on a programme called Photoscape.

Tilt–shift photography is the use of camera movements that change the orientation or position of the lens with respect to the film or image sensor on cameras.

Sometimes the term is used when the large depth of field is simulated with digital post-processing; the name may derive from a perspective control lens (or tilt–shift lens) normally required when the effect is produced optically.

“Tilt–shift” encompasses two different types of movements: rotation of the lens plane relative to the image plane, called tilt, and movement of the lens parallel to the image plane, called shift. – Wikipedia

Basically, it’s a way to make some things in pictures look like they are miniatures. You know how you can go to the museum and they often have a miniatures section? Like, really small scenes of the Wild West? Like that.

So I had a go with some of the photos I had already taken.

Knowing that I have the function now, I will look out for scenes that will look cool as a mini version of itself. Any view from afar, or crowds from the top of a building .. .there are tones of way you can incorporate tilt-shift into your photography. This is just a start!

Finding out this tilt-shift photography hack has been a game-changer and I’m really looking forward to discovering new scenes that will look really fun in this mode.

Have you even played around with Tilt-shift? How’d you like this tilt-shift photography hack?
