When I get vouchers from friends or family for birthdays, I tend to buy the things I wouldn’t normally. I don’t do smart things like buy what I need or even a book that I’ve been meaning to read. I go to the store and I find things that perhaps I wouldn’t normally buy. Like my friends Donna and Tom say, Treat Yo Self.
It was one of these instances that I discovered these beauties. Smart Phone Lenses. Hello!
Didn’t know it was a thing? Me either. But now I do and it’s a marvel. I discover at Typo that they had a couple of different lenses that simply attach with a magnet to your phone, and make your photos even more awesome. I ended up buying a Macro/Wide Angle lens, and also a Kaleidoscope lens. So.Much.Fun.
Each pack comes with sticky magnet rings, and you simply peel off one side of the magnet and stick it firmly to the camera on your phone (it fits perfectly around the outside), and then to use the lens you just take off the cover, and place the magnetised-lens onto your camera, and voila! Take pictures as normal.
The Macro/Wide Angle lens has two settings, as the name would suggest: Macro, and then wide angle. The wide angle is attached onto the macro, so you just need to un-screw it to get those super neat super close-up shots. The Wide Angle just makes the picture wider, or rather, it captures a wider shot from your camera. Not that exciting…but the Macro is so great!
The kaleidoscope lens is amazing. Everyone loves a good old fashion kaleidoscope, right? Right! Now you can turn every day things into a magical twisty image.
If you’re after a fun addition to your smart phone photos, or perhaps you’re after a gift for someone, these lenses are such good fun, and they cost about $15 NZD each from Typo.
