When the theme is Wizardry, you know it’s going to be good.
And it really was. January’s Fandom of the Month Club box was Wizardry themed, and Erin and the team did such a great job. I really enjoy the pieces in this box, and while there’s an item I won’t ever wear, I love the fact that it’s wizardry in general, rather than something specific like Harry Potter or Merlin.
I’m also really enjoying how she’s mixing things up a little bit. December’s box was The Secret Garden, and it was so beautiful. The Secret Garden isn’t really what you think of when you think ‘fandom’, but I absolutely loved that box. Wizardry, while not quite the same, is more an overarching theme rather than something specific like Lord of the Rings. And I like that. It gives people wriggle room, and they don’t have to worry too much about not liking a box because they’re not fans of a certain movie or show. It also means Erin and FOTMC can branch out a little bit and aren’t restricted to just one fandom.
Here’s what was in the wizardry box!

Information card, stash bag and magnet
Love love love the magnet this month! Looks at that beautiful Harry Potter-esque image! Ah! Possibly one of my favourite magnets to date. The bag is so neat too, with Salem’s Sorcery Surplus on it, and the info card (which has all the details of the subscription box on the reverse) has a Hogwarts-esque feel with the paintings and knight.

Hogwarts Necklace
Speaking of Harry Potter, this pendant is a really bright Hogwarts. I love how it’s a little different to the usual Hogwarts – more often than not really dark and moody. I don’t know how often I’ll wear this, but I do really like it. Reminds me of the alphabet fairy lights from Stranger Things that was in the November box.

Bookshelf ring
This is so super cute! Rows of books, with a slumped witch’s hat, a cat, and several ominous looking bottles. Seeing as I work in a library, this will definitely be worn.

Chocolate Frog and Owl Earrings
These chocolate frog earrings are really cute, but I don’t think I’ll wear the owl ones. I really don’t like owls (don’t hate me!). I can probably give this away to a friend though, so not all is lost.

Wrap bracelet
This wrap bracelet is such a great idea. It’s made of some sort of material, and it wraps multiple times around my wrist. It reads things like cauldrons, potions, friendship, sorcery and wands along it. Very cool!
So that was the Fandom of the Month Club box for January! Another great box, thanks Erin! If you guys are interested in getting your box each month, you can sign up here. It’s USD$13 a month, plus shipping, and is totally worth it. I’ve been getting it for several years now and I have no plans of ending my subscription.
Did you receive January’s box? What did you think? What’s your favourite item?
