It’s nearly the end of June (what!?), so I thought this was a great time of the year to give you guys a bit of an update on my Good Reads Challenge. If you’re unfamiliar, each year on Good Reads you can set yourself a goal of X-amount of books to read before December 31st rolls around. It’s actually so great, because not only does it allow you to keep a track of how many books you’ve read in a year, but you can also head on back to last year’s challenge, or the year before, and see what books you read in those years, and how many more you’ve read this year. I love being able to see everything set out like that.
Last year I challenged myself to read 45 books, and managed to read 53 books (mostly thanks to Christmas holidays and just reading all day every day). This year I decided to bump up the challenge number a little bit, so this year it’s 48. As of right now I’m up to 26 books, which means, according to Good Reads I’m 4 books ahead of schedule, which I’m very pumped about it. I think it’s partly due to a few audio books that I’ve listened to in the space of a day. I only count audio books in this challenge, though, if they are unabridged, and because it’s actually slower than reading, then it’s fine. This year I’ve also started receiving books from Hachette Publishing in return for an honest review, which has been very exciting.
I’ve also managed to read several sequels, which I have been meaning to read for a little while now, and it was even on my list of goals for 2015. I’ll have an update of how those goals are going in the next week or two, so head on back if you want to know how badly I’m failing (or how well I’m failing? What’s the saying? Is there a saying…? Unsure on that…).
