Welcome to the BoMoSh!
The BoMoSh is a post for Books, Movies and Shows. I’ll be sharing what I’ve read and seen in the last month, and I always welcome suggestions for books, shows and movies. Leave me a comment if you think there’s something that I might enjoy.
Books | 7
- Red, White and Royal Blue, by Cassie McQuiston
- Romanov, by Nadine Brandes
- Spin the Dawn, by Elizabeth Lim
- Stalking Jack the Ripper, by Kerri Maniscalco
- Tunnel of Bones, by Victoria Schwab
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, by JK Rowling (audio)
- Let It Snow, by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle
Pretty happy with the amount of books I read this month, especially considering I was away for about a week in the middle there, with very little reading time. I didn’t get to the books I really wanted to in November (you can find that list here), but I did really enjoy all these stories. Harry Potter was one of my Vow to Re-Read books for 2019 and I’m stoked I managed to get to it. Looking at the rest of my list I realise that none of the others were ARCs or sent by the publisher, which is the reason my pile is so big at home. Oops. I’m hoping to get onto those and do a bit of catching up in December when work is finished!
Movies | 2
- JoJo Rabbit (2019)
- Last Christmas (2019)
Watching one movie in a month is pretty good for me! Watching two is nearly unheard of! I really enjoyed both these movies. JoJo Rabbit was directed by our very own Taika Waititi and at this stage I will watch anything he’s directed or is in. And in JoJo Rabbit he did both. It was excellent; an amazing mix of hilarity and poignant story lines, and if you haven’t seen it, then I highly recommend it. Last Christmas was my first Christmas flick for the season (whereas some of my friends have been on a Halmark binge on Netflix – alas, time is not favouring me this month), and I thought it was such a fun movie!
Shows
This month I watched the second season of The End of F***king World (what a show), as well as The Good Place, Supernatural and the odd episode of Black Books (which is something I pop on when I want something short but also not have to pay too much attention too – I know the script pretty well). I seen that Riverdale Season 4 is out but I haven’t got around to watching it yet. I’ll get there.
What have you read and watched this past month?
