Comedian Jack Whitehall brought his show, Stood Up, to Spark Arena.

Hopefully you’re familiar with Jack Whitehall, but if not: he’s a comedian and actor from England, and has been in a number of shows and movies over the years. One of the popular shows right now is his Netflix show Travels With My Father, but he’s also been in Good Omens recently, and his past shows have included Bad Education and Fresh Meat.

Comedy super star Jack Whitehall is coming to New Zealand for his very first time and bringing his brand-new show Stood Up. A joy to watch on stage and a comedian who is firmly on the road to becoming a global megastar, this show is not to be missed.

Jack Whitehall said: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be going back out on the road. There’s no feeling like standing up on stage in front of an arena full of strangers, and still being able to hear your dad heckle you.” – Ticketmaster

My friend and I headed along to Spark Arena when he was here on the 1st of February, and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. While I didn’t enjoy his stand up as much as his shows – it’s more crass, more unnecessarily gross (like so much stand up is, really) – there were a lot of hilarious moments among the cringe-worthy ones.

There were some bits I’d already heard from various Netflix watching, but the majority of the show was new. There are a few of his stand up shows on Netflix (at least the AusNZ Netflix), so if you’re interested in what it was like, check those out. Or start watching Travels with my Father, because it’s quite excellent.

Did you go and see Jack Whitehall Stood Up at Spark Arena?
