With an event name like ‘The Chocolate and Coffee Show’ there was no way we were going to check it out.
And get all the free samples. Obviously.
As we stepped into the Cloud on Queen’s Wharf, down on Auckland’s waterfront, we were greeted by the delectable aromas of coffee and cocoa. From hand-made chocolates to designer cupcakes, freshly roasted coffee beans to liqueurs, every stall had something tasty or beautiful at it.

We enjoyed a lot of free samples, a little too many shots of coffee liqueur, and picked up numerous business cards so we could find them again. You can’t attend something like The Chocolate and Coffee Show and not walk away with some treats. After much deliberation, we picked up some chocolate from Hogarth Craft Chocolate (try their Buttered Toast and Sea Salt flavour! Ohmyword), and a box of 6 heavenly cupcakes from BONDIE Designer Cupcakes and spend the rest of the day in a sugar coma.

They also had ruby chocolate available for tasting (apparently it’s going to be available in stores by early December!), and it;s quite nice. Different, but nice. We spotted some in Melbourne earlier this year, but didn’t buy any because it was expensive. I wonder what the prices of it will be …
As well as chocolate and coffee, there was a couple of other non-bean related stalls, including a lemoncello stand, honey shop, home-wares, sweet treats like nougat, and a couple of food stands near the back of the Cloud. If you get the chance to go next, then we highly recommend it. It’s about NZD$20 to get in, but then you can eat your weight in samples and leave with delicious things under your arms. Do it.
Did you go this year? What was your favourite stall? Did you buy anything?
