The BoMoSho December 2017

Welcome to the BoMoSh!

If you missed last month’s post, then in short, the BoMoSh is a new post for Books, Movies and Shows. I’ll be sharing what I’ve read and seen in the last month, and I always welcome suggestions for books, shows and movies. Leave me a comment if you think there’s something that I might enjoy.

Books | 3

  • Crooked Kingdom, by Leigh Bardugo
  • The Art Of Leaving your Sh*t All Over the Place, by Jennifer McCartney
  • A Tyranny of Petticoats, edited by Jennifer Spotswood

Not very pleased with the number of books I read in December. It took me nearly a month to read Crooked Kingdom, not because I wasn’t enjoying (it’s one of my faves of the year!) but simply because pre-Christmas shenanigans take up so much time! I was lucky if I read more than 1 chapter in a sitting. The Art Of Leaving your Sh*t All Over the Place was just a little fun read I picked up, a mockery of minimal living and de-cluttering life. Very enjoyable.

Movies | 6

Psych is one of my all time favourite TV shows. It never came to New Zealand, but my friend had bought the series while she was overseas years back, and got a few of us hooked. They released a movie, three years after the series concluded in 2014. Was it worth the wait? The hype? The sneak peeks? It really really was.

And yes, the rest are also festive movies.

Shows

I finally finished Stranger Things Season 2 (and loved it, obviously), and I’ve also been keeping up with Riverdale. I started a bunch of short series on Netflix but didn’t like any of them, so that was short-lived. I really need some short, 20-minute shows to watch so when it’s like 10pm and too late to watch a 40-50 minute show, there’s still enough time to do a 20-minute one. You know? I just end up re-watching How I Met Your Mother for probably the 8th time (that’s every episode, the entire show, re-watched about 8 times now). Which isn’t a bad thing…but it isn’t a great thing either.

What have you read and watched this past month?
