Books About Books: Stories for the Book Lovers

You don’t have to venture far on my blog to discover how much I love books. And one of my favourite sub-genres is books about books. Whether they be fantasy, literature, general fiction, romance … I love a story that revolves around books, or has books heavily featured in it somehow.
If you’re like me and you love a book about books … here are some that you could check out (if you haven’t already read them!). Now, full disclosure: I haven’t read all of these, but I’ll make specific comments for you if I have and what I thought of them.

Another type of book I don’t usually go for is a book full of letters. But I actually really enjoyed The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer! I have yet to watch the movie though (I know, I know, super late to that one!).

Taken, along with her mother and father, from the Terezín ghetto in Prague, Dita is adjusting to the constant terror that is life in the camp. When Jewish leader Freddy Hirsch asks Dita to take charge of the eight precious volumes the prisoners have managed to sneak past the guards, she agrees. And so Dita becomes the librarian of Auschwitz.

The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore by Laurie Gilmore is the 2nd book in the Dream Harbor series, and I have been loving this series a lot. It’s a series of interconnected stories that you can read in any order (though I do recommend the publishing order!). This one is mainly set in a bookstore.

This was such a fun read! The Book Witch is about Rainy March, who is a Book Witch who can step into stories. The book follows her as she does a mission inside one of her favourite books, falls for her favourite character, and the chaos and mayhem that follows this forbidden dalliance.
