Last Saturday we headed over the Auckland Harbour bridge (not to be confused with the Sydney Harbour bridge…and no, neither bridge connects the countries) to Devonport. Devonport is this cute suburb of Auckland, which has only one main route in and out, though you can get the ferry across from Auckland central. It’s a very old part of Auckland, but has some super cute shops, and a pretty park, a great walk along the beach front, and even has a horse drawn carriage that takes you around. We just spent a few hours there on the Saturday afternoon, but it was really nice! Here are some pictures from the day.

There were several second hand book stores, and you’ll be proud of me – I didn’t buy any! What!? I know! Crazy! But there were some very tempting kids books which were super old, but look very very cool!

There was this fantastically cute vintage shop, and while everything was extremely expensive, it was great fun looking at all the things they had in there, and swooning over gorgeous dresses and fabrics.

As you can see, it was a semi-nice day, with a bit of cloud in places and not much of a breeze (sounding like a weatherman now), and while it wasn’t the warmest of days, we got yoghurt at Yoghurt Story and ate it while walking along the water front. It’s one of those places where you choose your flavour, and then pile whatever you’d like on top. I had chocolate chips and gummie bears. True story. Way to make a semi-healthy things super unhealthy…

So there we have it! Devonport! Put that on your list of places to visit when you come to New Zealand. πŸ™‚
