Do your blog stats go up and done depending on the time of the year? Coz mine do. Lots of my blog posts bring in some great seasonal traffic throughout the year, and that’s fantastic. But what we really want for our blogs is consistent traffic all year round. And for that, we really need evergreen content.

What are Evergreen blog posts?

Evergreen blog posts are blog posts that don’t have time restrictions. A Christmas post is seasonal – it only makes sense to check it out leading up to Christmas. But What Blogging Platform Should I Use? is an Evergreen post – it doesn’t matter what time of the year it is for that blog post to make sense.

How many Evergreen blog posts should I have on my blog?

That answer is going to be personal to you, but I like to have the majority of Evergreen content so that my blog traffic is pretty consistent throughout the year. Yes it will boost around those seasonal times, but for the most part, it’s getting good traffic, and not dipping drastically low after those seasons come to an end.
