Brunch Club at GAINZ Eatery
I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve managed to head along to a Brunch Club! The last one I went to was Jack Tar which was June 2015. An entire year ago. Yikes. I think I’ve just had jammed-packed weekends for so long that I haven’t been able to make it to many. Also, it’s only been this year that I’ve had access to a car, so last year I could really only get to them if they were on a bus route and I didn’t have to change on public transport 6 times to get there. Ironically, this month’s brunch club I caught the bus. *rolls eyes*
It was actually so nice heading back to brunch club. I love hanging out with the NZ Bloggers, and if you’re unfamiliar, then here’s the low down. Brunch Club is a sister group of NZBloggers, which is a group of bloggers from around New Zealand. Brunch Club happens nearly every month in Auckland, as well as some of the other cities around the country. The last Brunch Club (I think?) was at the new cat cafe here in Auckland, but I couldn’t go (and even if I did, then I’d be sneezing the whole time).

But GAINZ (which stands for Grow and Inspire New Zealand) was a great place to jump back into Brunch Club with. There were about 10 of us there, and while that’s quite a small group, it was really nice seeing them, and I had a great catch up with Jessie from Nailed It NZ. (P.S Check out her Polish Mountain video on YouTube. It was inspired by a challenge from another YouTuber, Simply Nailogical, and it’s absolutely nuts!)
GAINZ Eatery is all about healthy eating. Most things on the menu ranged from gluten-free to paleo, to dairy-free, and everything else you can think of. I ended up having Eggs Benedict (with paleo hollandaise), with additional bacon (because, I mean, well … bacon), and a great big mochaccino. It was pretty good, though not the most amazing thing I’ve tasted (at first I wrote ‘tasered’, but I can’t stress enough the fact that I never, nor do I ever plan, of tasering my breakfast). The idea of paleo hollandaise kinda freaked me out at the beginning, and it did taste different, but not so much that I’d never have it again.

If you’re in Auckland and want to stop by, they’re situated at Princes Wharf, and the decor is super neat. Perhaps a little pricey, for the size portion you get, but it was a fun morning out and I’m hoping I can make the next brunch club.
Have you been to GAINZ? Or brunch recently?
