It’s time to set another Goodreads Reading Challenge!

If you’re unaware, the bookish website, Goodreads, runs a reading challenge each year for readers to participate in. Basically, you set yourself a goal of X amount of books to read in the year, and as you read each book you log it on Goodreads and it’ll keep track of all the books for you. I often talk about my love of Goodreads, and the reading challenge is one of the reason that I love it. While I would probably keep track of the books I read each whether Goodreads did it for me or not, it’s still a lot of fun being able to keep track this way. They even round up the year in December for you, so you can look back and see all the books you read.

In 2019 I set myself a Goodreads Reading Challenge goal of 50, and I ended up reading 70 books. I’ve never set my book goal for higher than 50, but I figure if I’m going to do it at all why not aim high in 2020? The beginning of a new decade, and all. And by ‘high’ I mean I’m just going to raise it to 60.

60 seems like a good number to me. I’m raising it by 10 books, but not making it 70 just in case for some reason this is the year of big books and not 300 page ones. We’ll see how we go, and I’ll give you guys a mid-year update in July. In the meantime though, you can add me on Goodreads so you can see how I’m doing and I can see how you’re doing.

How many books are you hoping to read in 2020?
