Sometimes all you need is a Halloween Mood Board

Or maybe we need Halloween Mood Boards all the time? On my wanderings on Unsplash I kept seeing really neat spooky photographs, and I thought it would be fun to gather some of these images and put them together a few Halloween mood boards.

Mood boards are such a great way to, well, get in the mood for something. Or to express the mood you’re currently in. And, friend, Halloween is BIG MOOD. Am I right?

I’ve put together these 8 Halloween mood boards for you to check out and hopefully, they’ll inspire something this year. Perhaps some of them will give you some ideas for what you might dress up as this Halloween, decorate your house with, or spark something creative.

Ghosts

I don’t know if you believe in ghosts, but they’re definitely one of the main themes or costumes for Halloween. Perhaps because they’re so easy to achieve, or perhaps because they’re so eerie, or unnatural … something!

Vampires

I heard a rumour vampires were coming back. What with books like The Vampire Academy turned into a TV show, and the brief stint of First Kill on Netflix … there are even new vampire books coming out. It goes to show, vampires really do never die. (Haha I’m so funny.)

Witches and Wizards

Okay so Harry Potter will always be the first to come to mind when I think of witches and wizards. But there are so many more witch and wizards stories out there, and myths and legends, and it’s all so good. Here are some images of witchy things, and yes, they’re all very Hogwarts-themed.

Werewolves

Edward or Jacob? The age-old debate. Whatever you think about werewolves, they’re creepy as heck. Anything that can turn into something else that has teeth as sharp as that? No thank you.

Haunted Houses

There’s something about a haunted house … probably a lot of something actually. Whether they’re covered in spider webs or there’s a chill in the air when you approach … maybe best to just stay away all together.

Spiders

I don’t know about you, but spiders aren’t that scary to me. Unless they’re ginormous and then I will run in the other direction. A spider doesn’t need to be the size of a plate, thanks, Australia.

Mummies

We seem to have a fascination with the dead-but-not-quite-dead. Ghosts, vampires, mummies, zombies … are we okay?

Zombies

And more than one lot of brains, I’d guess. Zombies are terrifying. Although Shaun of the Dead is a brilliantly hilarious movie and I love it. I’m here for those sorts of zombies, that you can still keep under control in your garden shed and play video games with. If you’ve seen the movie you’ll know what I mean. If not, I’m not crazy, promise.
