“I want to suck your blood!” – all the vampires, ever.

October’s Fandom of the Month Club Box was appropriately Halloween themed with a Vampires box! It’s funny how vampires were this huge thing for long, but now they’ve sort of taken a back step a little bit.

Now I like a good vampire story like the next person – can I get a cheer for Buffy?! – but this box didn’t really stack up against the other boxes. Perhaps it’s because there’s probably only 1 item that I would actually wear in day to day life, the rest I would totally rock at a themed party.

Considering I have like 90% of all the other boxes I have received over the years, one mediocre one isn’t going to stop me getting it. No way. Check out what was in this Vampires box.

Information card, stash bag, and magnet

Loving the magnet this month! As I said, I love Buffy a lot, so this is perfect. The bag has Dracula, the novel by Bram Stoker, on the front, and the info card has the typical vampires-sleep-in-coffins image with a bat.

Gothic lace choker

Okay so I have to say that I actually think this is awesome. I just will never be wearing it out unless I’m dressing up as a vampire, or something similar. Definitely a cool idea though.

Earrings

These. What? It’s not often there’s an item in one of these boxes that I just wonder ‘who would wear these?’ Please someone prove me wrong! If you’ve worn these out then you can clearly rock them and I am impressed. Send me a picture!

Buffy charm bracelet

This is very neat, and while I don’t like wearing charm bracelets very much, I think I might dismantle it and make a necklace. I love all the charms and how they (probably) relate to the characters and themes and storylines.

Bite marks/blood choker

When I first got this out of the box I thought it was a double-wrap bracelet with two drops of blood. Then after some internet searching I discovered that it’s a choker, and the blood dots are like bite marks. Duh, Anjali. Seriously. I think I would wear this as a bracelet though, but the idea is very clever.

Twilight book ring

I was definitely a Twilight fan, but only the books. I was one of those people who read the books before they started having an intense following, but didn’t enjoy the movies. I haven’t even seen the last one yet. Even though I really enjoyed the books, I won’t be wearing this ring. I’ve figured out how to take off the Twilight page, so I might wear just the black book out and about.

Overall, a pretty meh box for me this month. The amount of great pictures on Instagram though tell me that I am among the few who feel like this, so that’s fantastic. My favourite piece is probably the Buffy charm bracelet, even though I plan to change it.

Did you get October’s box? What did you think?Β
