The Auckland Food Show was yet another hit
It’s becoming a habit that a friend and I head to the Auckland Food Show each year. And what a great habit it is. We always come away having discovered new (and delicious) brands and companies, ranging from toffee vodka (a 2021 discovery) to cupcakes bakeries, from moreish crackers to eco-friendly shopping wares.
“The Food Show is the event for foodies. It’s is where you can try and buy the very best food, wine, beer and so much more! Discover recipes and hot tips from top celebrity chefs in the NEFF Cooking Theatre or if you’re looking to find the best deals, don’t look past the incredible show-only deals from hundreds of exhibitors.” – from the website
This year we headed to the showgrounds at about 10:30am, with the crowds, of course, and made our way through the many many aisles of stalls and vendors. The Auckland Food Show is one of those events where you need to do an entire lap of the place and suss out what you want to get and from whom before circling back around.

Some years we’ve ended up on a sugar buzz, having sample way too many cupcakes, brownies, and other sweet treats, while some years we’ve had a few too many free gin samples and had to carb up and linger for a while, just in case.
In 2019 when we went to the show, we managed to catch Nadia Lim (founder of My Food Bag) at one of the theatres, as well as Simon Gault chatting about his sugar-free tomato sauce (recommend! It’s actually really good!). This year we didn’t linger long enough to catch any presenters (other than a quick stop to observe for a few moments) as we headed to Cereal Killa afterward for lunch, but it was still a great morning out.

We walked away with a lot of liquor, several boxes of cookies, peanut butter, honey, and a few other bits and bobs.
Every year is different, but every year is thoroughly enjoyable.
