It’s about time I did the Epic Reads Book Tag.

The wonderful Margot over at Epic Reads created the Epic Reads Book Tag back in the early days of 2015, and since then, I’ve seen a lot of blog posts and YouTube videos on this tag. Here we are in 2018 and I’m only just answering these great questions now. Better late than never? We’ll see.

My go to answer for most book tag questions is ‘J.K Rowling’ and/or Harry Potter. I’ve included those, but I’ve also tried to restrain myself by thinking of other great books and series. A few of these questions were definitely difficult to answer (especially number 6!), but I got there in the end.

1 | If you could invite one author and one of their fictional characters to tea, who would you invite and what would you serve them?

V.E. Schwab/Victoria Schwab and probably Kell, from A Darker Shade of Magic. I probably l just want to steal his ever-changing coat to be honest.

2 | What book do you wish the author would write a prequel for?

I’m not really one for prequels; I find I don’t love them as much as the original stories, however! If Leigh Bardugo ever wrote a prequel to the Six of Crows Duology, I would definitely buy and read that. I’ll read anything she writes. Seriously. If you haven’t read the Shadow and Bone series, or the Six of Crows books, then you need to. Stop reading this and go to your library or local bookstore and read them.

3 | Which two characters (NOT from the same book)  do you think would make a good couple?

Oooh, okay. I got this.

*literally over a week later, postponing the publishing of this post*

I don’t got this. I can’t decide! I can’t rip couples apart for someone else, and I can’t think of anyone suited to characters who haven’t ended up with someone. Why was this so difficult?!

4 | If you ran into your favourite author on the subway and could only say one sentence to them, who is it and what would it be?

J.K Rowling, and I would hug her and say “Thank you for making Hogwarts our home.”

5 | What book made you a reader and why?

While it was Harry Potter that really got me back into reading, it was probably the Narnia Series that started it all. When I was born, family friends gave me the whole set (the one and only set I still have today), and my dad used to read them to me.

6 | Incendio! Your bookshelf caught on fire. Show us the one book you would save.

One? One book!? You know what? I’m going to cheat and say my Narnia box set. it’s literally in a box, so it’s easy to pick up in a rush, and it’s 27 years old and the book/s I’ve own the longest. Please world, let incendio not happen in my room.

7 | Which dystopian world would you want to live in if you had to choose one? Why?

I don’t think a dsytopian world would ever be good to live in, that’s the definition, right? I’ve been wracking my brains and nowhere is even ‘slightly less bad than the next’. Eek!

8 | What is your most epic read of all time?

epic: noun /- 1. a long poem, typically one derived from ancient oral tradition, narrating the deeds and adventures of heroic or legendary figures or the past history of a nation.

Technically speaking then the only ‘epic’ I’ve read is Homer’s Odyssey. But I’m sure that’s not what they meant. So to answer the question accordingly: there’s no way I can pick just one.

Have you done the Epic Reads Book Tag? If you have, do leave the link to your post or video in the comments so I can read your answers!
