I’ve said it before and I’ll say it every day until my time on this earth is done: Canva is everything. There are so many things you can put design; in this post, we’re going to look at 10 things you didn’t know you could create in Canva.
In the past few years, the design programme has sky-rocketed in popularity, and there’s a reason for that: it’s an easy-to-use platform that is free and can be sued by those of us who aren’t designers. With more and more people jumping on board, the programme continues to add incredible tools and resources to the platform, so we as users can fully utilise everything they offer.
Let’s get into it!
10 things you didn’t know you could create in Canva
- T-Shirts
- Invoices
- Proposals
- Itinerary Planners
- Photo Books
- Menus
- Lesson Plans
- Certificates
- Class Schedules
- Literally whatever you like
T-Shirts
Want to make a t-shirt in Canva? You can! Use your design signs from your Canva free or Canva Pro account to create a beautiful design and slap it on a t-shirt! If your friends love them too, re-0rder some more.
This would be such a fun idea for an event you were running, or if you work with volunteers. Have a bachelorette party coming up? Why not make everyone t-shirts! They also use Safe For Children ink on their custom t-shirt orders, so they make great gifts for kids, too!
Invoices
Own your own business? Are you a freelancer? You can create invoices in Canva. Select one of the Invoices templates, adjust any colours and logos to your own, input your figures, add the address and accounts, download the invoice as a PDF and you’re good to send it to your clients.
Proposals
Put together a proposal on Canva for your next business meeting.
There are so many beautiful, elegant, and business-like templates that you can use, both in the free Canva version and if you have Canva Pro.
You can easily change the colours and the logos, as you can with every Canva template, and quickly popular the pages (which might run from just a few pages to full 10+ proposals), download the proposal in your format of choice and send it where you need it to go.
Itinerary Planners
Travel lover? You can create your full travel itinerary planner right here in Canva! As a big fan of travelling and discovering new places, I loved discovering that this was an option in Canva.
While these travel itinerary planners aren’t vast in their page count, you can easily create new pages within your designs to bulk them out if you’re going on a big road trip or you’re taking a big tour around Europe, Asia, America, or wherever! It’s super helpful to be able to have these itineraries in Canva, and they might even be your next faff-free holiday go-to!
Photo Books
Whether you’re a traveller or you just love to document your photos in a photo book, Canva has your back! Gone are the days when we shoot 24 images on our film cameras and have to take them down to the photo store to get them developed (and you didn’t even really know what they were going to turn out like!).
These days, of course, everything is done on our phones or on digital cameras, which means we can swap away and then not have anywhere to put our travel memories or those photos from memorial events.
By creating a photo book on Canva, you can keep those travel memories alive, you can put those important events into paper form and pop them on your coffee table and share them with your friends. Creating a photo book on Canva is a great option to do that.
💡 Top tip: You can also have Canva print the book for you!
Menus
Hosting a party and need to create some menus? You can make a menu on Canva!
You can even use the menu templates on Canva to create new menus for your small business (great for businesses starting out when you don’t have a budget to spend on a designer). Use your brand kit to add your brand colours onto the Canva template, your logo, and any other details that you think you need to add.
Lesson Plans
If you’re a teacher or you share workshops, then using Canva’s lesson plans will be a lifesaver! There are plenty of really useful templates to kick you off, and if you’d prefer to do your own, they really give you a base for transforming the Canva templates into your own.
Whether you teach kindergarten, school, high school, or college (or you’re a freelancer or business owner who teaches classes and workshops) then this is a really great resource.
Certificates
Perfect for course creators and teachers (or anyone really!), creating a certificate on Canva is such a fun way of recognising the successes of those around you.
Why not create a certificate and send it to users finishing your online course? Or create a certificate to recognise the success of a business client reaching a milestone? Or just make a certificate for your friends when they do something you think is super cool.
Class Schedules
Another one for the teachers out there! Did you know you can design class schedules in Canva? Because I didn’t!
Taking a look at the templates for class schedules, there are so many great options. And again, as with every design on Canva, you can change up the colours, swap out the images and graphics for ones that work for your class and what you need in your schedule.
Literally whatever you like
Probably not a surprise right! With the Custom Dimensions feature on Canva, you can literally create whatever you like. From giant posters to small greeting cards, resources for teachers and students, write an ebook!
So that was 10 things you didn’t know you could create in Canva, and as I said above, the possibilities are endless!
No matter what you’re designing, Canva is such a phenomenal resource, especially if don’t currently have a budget for hiring a designer.
But you know what’s even better than these things that you can create on Canva? This isn’t the full list! Head on over to Canva and sign up today to start discovering more ways you can use Canva in your everyday life.
