When you know famous YouTubers, it means you get to go to things for free. Jessie from Nailed It NZ, won double tickets to go to the Hailwood fashion show at New Zealand fashion week, which was held between the 18 – 24 September this year.

Jessie and I aren’t really fashion-savvy or know anything about fashion other than most of the time runway shows involve girls who need to get at least one pie, hobbling down a skinny walkway, wearing clothes that no one in their right mind would actually wear in real life. Sweeping generalisation, I know, but that’s basically all we’ve got.

But heading to the Hailwood show was really great. We got there early enough to grab a glass of water in a plastic cocktail ‘glass’ and wandered around some of the things that were displayed in cases around the Auckland TSB Events Centre.

Considering we had free seats, they were actually really great. They were third row from the bottom, and they were right on the end, which meant I had a good angle to grab some pictures. There were actually a few outfits in Hailwood’s collection that I would wear,  especially this great dress with an awesome pattern on it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a non-blurry picture of it, but you can kind of get there idea here (one on the right hand side below). Checking out the Website, there are quite a few pieces that I really like (but obviously can’t afford).

While the whole thing was super short, it was a great evening out, and for free, so we can’t complain really. Afterwards we headed to the Onehunga Night Markets for some dinner, and that was that.

Thanks, Jessie, for sharing your free ticket with me. It was great fun!

Did you head along to any of New Zealand Fashion Week’s events?
