Another month anther Brunch Club. This month we headed to Jack Tar, a bar/eatery down on the waterfront in Auckland. I hadn’t been there before, only walked past a few times. I caught the bus, as per usual, and headed along the waterfront to find it. I was a little early, but some of the girls were already there, so I sat down and met Ashley, from Arte Della Moda, who had also just arrived.

While I didn’t get any pictures of the building or the inside décor, it wasn’t really anything special… or rather, not like the cool Alice in Wonderland pictures on the wall of The White Rabbit, or bright, creative and white like Loop last month. But it was still pretty neat, with open bookshelves that housed the water jugs and the menus, and a kitchen that you could see into, with busy chefs running around.
While I normally go for something that I can’t make at home when I go out, this time I felt like the Sweetcorn Fritters, with bacon and avocado. While it wasn’t the most exciting of breakfasts, it was still quite good and I enjoyed seeing what others got too. Here’s a (slightly bad due to average lighting) picture of my brunch, and also of Bri’s muesli and fruit.
We had two sets of tables, which was actually a tad annoying. Usually for brunch club we have a huge long table, which is great because at least we’re all together, and then we can swap chairs and head down the other end to talk to other people. But at Jack Tar we had a table for about 10, although there were only 7 of us at it, and then the rest of the group were on the longer table, which was about 20 people maybe. While it was super nice to be able to chat with the girls at the little table, I didn’t get to meet any of the other people from the other table. But meh! Watcha gonna do? It was still a great morning.
And that was Brunch Club! I wonder where we will go next time…?
