The BoMoSh july 1

Welcome to the BoMoSh!

The BoMoSh is a post for Books, Movies and Shows, a post where I share what I’ve read and seen in the last month. I always welcome suggestions for books, shows and movies, so leave me a comment if you think there’s something that I might enjoy.

Books | 3

  • We are Inevitable by Gayle Foreman
  • Kind of a Funny Story by Shannon Hale (audiobook)
  • The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde (the BBC Radio Drama Collection)

Not that of a great roundup of books for July, to be honest, but reading something is better than reading nothing. Amiright. While We are Inevitable was a good read, Kind of a Funny Story wasn’t really (which was disappointing because I thought the concept was fun!), but it was an absolute joy to dive back into The Importance of Being Earnest on audiobook. And it was dramatised by the BBC so it was even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a short audiobook to read.

Movies | 2

  • In the Heights (2021)
  • Black Widow (2021)

Absolutely LOVED both of these movies! I managed to catch In the Heights just as it was on its way out of the cinema, and I’m so glad I did. It was such a fun movie, and I love the way Lin Manuel Miranda combines his story-telling with music and rap. So freaken good!

And Black Widow was a brilliant addition to the Marvel Universe; Yelena Belova is now my fave character, and Florence Pugh brought her to life fantastically.

Shows

Started and finished the latest season of Atypical, as well as season 7 of Younger. Going to start watching Loki this month (I realise how far behind I am, yes), and am SO looking forward to that!

What have you read and watched this past month?
