Book Haul #12…

There’s a bit of back story to these next 6 (eek! 6!) book hauls

There was a gigantic book sale here in Auckland at the beginning of November. It was on Saturday from 10am – 2am (yes, 2 IN THE MORNING), and then from 6am Sunday till 2pm. That’s 24 hours of book sale! So, as you can imagine, I went. Not only did I go at around 10:30am on Saturday, I also headed back that evening…and left at about 11pm. Why? Because we could. Who buys books at 11pm at night?! We do. Anyway, I ended up buying *cough* 43 *cough* books. Granted, some were for my Mum and sister, but that’s still a lot of books. But they were only $2 or $3 each! Wanting to share them with you all, but not wanting to over excite your brains, I’ve decided to split them into separate book hauls. Here’s 1 of 6!

The Guardian, by Nicholas Sparks

Like I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, I haven’t actually read any of Nicholas Sparks’ books, but I really want to. I’ve been seeing them everywhere recently, so in the past month, I’ve gone to owning 0 of his books, to own 4. I think that’s pretty good!

Bridget Jones’s Diary, by Helen Fielding

Love love love these movies (who doesn’t!), so the book must be good too, right? Right. Haven’t read this either.

The Help, by Kathryn Stockett

We actually have a copy of this already, but I wanted a copy for myself because one day I will move out of home and I will want my own. I loved the book, and while I do realise that movies that are based on books are often quite different, I’ve heard great things about the book, and it’s been on my to-read list for a while now.

Harvesting the Heart, and Vanishing Acts, by Jodi Picoult

I’ve actually read both of these Jodi Picoult books, but I really want all her books. Adding these two to my collection (there’s a whole shelf dedicated to her books), I’ve got 11. Not too bad, really. I’ve only bought 1 new, having managed to score the rest second hand.
